Hidden Path Announces Its Fourth VR Title

Witchblood is a Metroidvania-style classic platformer designed for the intimacy of VR. Witchblood tells the story of Clara, a young woman in colonial Pennsylvania who loses everything. You must help Clara gain the strength necessary to defeat the evil that has taken over her town and turn the tables on those who hunt her. Explore an intricate diorama world in VR filled with secrets, enemies, and powerful magic.

Michael Austin, the creative director for Witchblood, shares how Witchblood joins the Metroidvania genre: “I’ve loved exploration platformers since I was a kid growing up with the NES. Both the Metroid and Castlevania series introduced these dark stories where you were alone in a hopeless situation with almost nothing to your name. Facing your fears and exploring the dark corners of the world paid off, until eventually it was your world. There’s something magical about VR that heightens emotion and brings an intimacy that you didn’t know was missing until it’s there. You care about characters you can reach out and touch. It’s hard to describe how much power that adds to this style of gameplay until you experience it. I’ve been working on this game for my entire life, and it’s awesome to be able to introduce Witchblood to the community.”
