Interview with Reid Malone, Eros and Nick Christos & Giveaway - August 11, 2012

Please welcome Reid Malone, Eros and Nick Christos to The Qwillery. We’re going to get to know each of them a little better today. You can also read more about them in their recently released novels, the first novels in Entangled Publishing's Covet imprint!

TQ:  Good day, Reid, Eros and Nick. I’m very pleased to have you virtually visit The Qwillery today. Would you each tell us a bit about yourself?

Reid:  Great to be here. A little about myself. Well, I grew up in Bloomington, Texas, went to college in Austin, made a mint with mineral rights and gas holdings, and now I'm trying to help my dad stay out of trouble. Moonshine. But that's another story.

Eros:  I am the Greek god of love, premordial and immortal, born of darkness and night before the earth was formed. At the moment, I run a matchmaking agency in Astoria, Queens, New York.

Nick:  This is a nice place you have here. Thanks for the invite. I'm an adrenaline junkie, and love the art of making a business deal. Lately, I've been distracted by a certain blonde downstairs. She makes it hard to focus sometimes.

TQ:  Why do you think you’d be the perfect catch? Or are you?

Reid:  I'm the perfect catch for the right woman. Who just happens to be Storie Bell. She just doesn't know it yet. She's the woman who makes Bloomington a home instead of a place to run from.

Eros:  God of love. Duh. Then again, I'm maybe a tad bit disillusioned right now. Or cynical, if you will. The love of my life, beautiful Psyche, left me for another, after a mere three thousand years or so, because she said I was a workaholic and didn't pay enough attention to her. Yeah, so... bitter, cynical, mistrusting, and a workaholic. Being god of love isn't a nine-to-five job, you know what I mean?

Nick:  My businesses keep me pretty busy, and I have -- other things that make it difficult for me to make any long-term commitments, though that may be changing in the near future. Women are the best thing about the world.

TQ:  What qualities do you look for in a date/commitment until time ceases?

Reid:  Everything Storie possesses. I want to be with someone who gets the small town guy in me, and who will also get the businessman part. Someone smart, caring, and, yes, sexy. Like I said, Storie Bell.

Eros:  Loyalty. Or stick-to-it-iveness, if you will. I mentioned Psyche leaving, did I not? After only three thousand years. I mean, that's not even half an eternity! So the second time around, I definitely want someone who'll stick around longer.

Nick:  I have an ideal woman in my head. She's funny, intelligent and she's curvy. I like a woman who has meat on her bones.

TQ:  Have your authors been kind to you or have they made things as difficult as possible for you?

Reid:  Difficult, of course. That seems to be he job of every author.

Eros:  I guess I can't complain. There was the thing about Psyche, of course; that happened through no fault of my own. But other than that, everything that went wrong was pretty much my own fault, I think. My stupidity, my stubbornness, my mistrust. Nobody's fault but mine.

Nick:  It's a little weird the way these writers get into my head. It's like they know me. She definitely made things difficult for me by creating one of the most incredible women who has ever graced the Earth. I've been around 800 years so I've seen a few of them.

TQ:  Tell us something about your story that is NOT in the book description.

Reid:  The tattoo on my arm? I got it just after an encounter with Storie at the lake. It's represents something I never thought I'd have with her.

Eros:  I have a few little superpowers. Like super-speed and super-strength. Other than that, and the whole immortal god thing, I'm pretty much just like any other man. Show me a pair of red shoes with four inch heels, and I'm just another guy tripping over his tongue. So much for the gods being superior to mere mortals.

Nick:  I nearly had to kill my best friend Linc, when he got a little too close to my beautiful neighbor down stairs. He isn't right for her, and I feel unnaturally protective of her.

TQ:  Can you let us in on what your authors are up to next (assuming you are even speaking to them)?

Reid:  Storie's sister is coming back to Bloomington, and I got the feeling there was a little something between her and a wine maker I know. I bet that's the next story to be told.

Eros:  Oh, we're speaking. God of love here, right? She needs my help in figuring out all the happy endings. First up there's Avery and Derek, who are getting ready to tie the knot after five Do It Yourself mysteries. You can read their story in Wall to Wall Dead on September 4th. Then on October 15th, there's Friends With Benefits, and Kaylee and Owen's story. Kaylee is pregnant and Owen has health insurance, and it seems that a marriage of convenience is just what the doctor - or the god of love - ordered. And then on November 13th, there's Fortune's Hero, and Quinn and Elsa. After that, we'll see if Herself can't crank out another Greek gods book. I've got a lot of friends who could use some help getting the word out. Adonis, Alastor, Dionysus... even Harry!

Nick:  Oh, I found my dream woman, so I'm definitely happy with my author. Though, she didn't make it easy. As for what is up next, I have a feeling my friend Linc is going to be in some deep trouble soon.

TQ: Thank you to Reid, Eros and Nick for ‘being here’ today! And thank you to their authors Melissa Bourbon Ramirez, Jenna Bennett and Candace Havens!

Reid Malone can’t wait to escape Bloomington, Texas. Unfortunately, he’s stuck where he is unless he helps his father hide a very illegal secret. The only key to Reid’s freedom lies with the eccentric Storie…and he’ll do whatever it takes to get the information he needs from her.

Tall, Dark, and Divine
by Jenna Bennett
Bagging a Greek God 1
Covet (Entangled Publishing), July 20, 2012
eBook, 291 pages

Eros, the Greek god of love, swore off the useless emotion after his ex ran off with some Viking godling. He’s lost all interest in his matchmaking business, Made in Heaven, until he spots the sweet baker who works across the street. Before she stirs his sullen heart, he’ll match her and get back to his ambrosia-laced wine in no time.
Lonely baker Annie Landon has given up on finding Mr. Right. What she needs is Mr. Right Here, Right Now, and this so-called “Greek God” she’s heard is on the rebound sounds exactly like the perfect kind of distraction. But picking up the bitter, workaholic is easier said than done…especially when he seems unreasonably determined to match her with someone else.

Can a woman looking for love—and the matchmaking god who wants her to find it with someone else—have a shot at a happy ending? May the best god—or mortal—win.

by Candace Havens
Covet (Entangled Publishing), July 20, 2012
eBook, 293 pages

Vampire Nick Christos might have been born in the Middle Ages, but those days seem tame compared to the last eight years spent ruling the Supernatural Council. The only respite in his long days of governing is with his sweet neighbor Casey Meyers. Sure, he’s forced to take a cold shower after every encounter, but no way will he risk anything more with a human. Not with his blood thirsty ex on the prowl and out to ruin Nick’s life.

But when said crazy ex shows up at the ball and flies her freak flag high, Nick has more to worry about than keeping his hands off his neighbor. He’ll have to stay closer than ever if he hopes to keep her alive, but will she want to leave him forever when she learns the truth?
