It turns out that Miss Bennet has purchased a computer in order to keep all of us apprised of what is happening. You can find links to Miss Bennet's correspondence at quirkclassics.com/zombies. You also can keep up with the digital goings on of Mr. Fitwilliam Darcy, Mrs. Bennet, Mr. Bennet, Mr. Bingley, Jane and Lydia Bennet, Mr. Wickham. Charlotte Lucas, and Mr. Collins. Most of them now have Facebook accounts! Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy are on Twitter as well. And for tips on how to be a lady and more, you must read Mrs. Bennet's blog - 19th Century Mombie.
Miss Bennet was also kind enough to send me a copy of Pride and Pejudice and Zombies. Since I already have a copy, I'd like to pass along the copy she sent to one commenter.
The lovely package and missive that Miss Bennet sent:
The Giveaway
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies features the original text of Jane Austen’s beloved novel with all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie action. As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton-and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she’s soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers-and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead. Complete with 10 wonderfully graphic illustrations, this insanely funny expanded edition will introduce Jane Austen’s classic novel to new legions of fans.

*Yes, I know that Miss Bennet is a fictional character and that the publisher sent me the letter and book. Just play along.
If I spotted a zombie I would, of course, wait for a formal introduction. Association with the coarser elements of society (flesh eaters included) is no excuse for a lapse in etiquette.
ReplyDeleteIf I saw a zombie I would of course offer them something to eat!

I guess I'm just uncouth (and a scaredy-cat!)...for if I spotted a zombie, I'd run quickly in the other direction! :p

I am also a softie - I will DEFINATELY run as fast as I could and hide. I am not brave enough for introductions. :)

Hmm, if I spotted a zombie I would first be unable to move from fright and then run as fast as I can and hope it was faster than the zombie.

If I saw a zombie I would definitely ask him if he'd like some tea then run like hell :).

Hi and Happy Sunday! :) Hmm, well, this happens to me a lot (ah, not really), so perhaps if they are anything like me first thing in the morning, they just might want some coffee. (Alas, I don't drink it, so takes me longer to be un-zombie like). If they had some caffeine, then perhaps they won't eat my brain! :)

+1 If I spotted a zombie, I would first try to analyse how he behaves and then, being sure he has already had his dinner, get to know him personally.

+1 If I spotted a zombie, I would first try not to gag, then when the neausea had abated I would try to stifle my scream and calmly back away without making any rushed or loud movement. Don't want to spook it and draw attention to myself.

If I spotted a zombie? Holy crap I would run. RUN RUN RUN! Zombies freak me out bad. I would not want to meet up with one. They are friendly like a werewolf, they are not hunky like a Vampire, they are not even best friend material like a Witch. All the zombies I know are icky! YUCK!!
thanks again!!

I would run because zombies are usually dumb, but do want to eat people and I'd prefer not to be eaten.
